I am baaacccckkk!!!
I want to first apologize to you for not showing up on the blog for last few months!! I was going through a season of being unmotivated, overwhelmed, and not taking care of myself the way I should.
Once I realize what was going on with me, I had to take a mental break and rest. I just could not find the words to say to you guys. But what I can say, when your body starts to give you signs that it needs rest, listen to it.
I kept ignoring the signs and slowly my body started to shut itself down. I though if I could push myself a little further, my body would just carry me like it always does. Not this time.
Burnout is something we have to take ownership for. We see it coming but ignore it. I had to first forgive myself for not listen, then take two weeks off to recover.
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE do not wait until your “empty” before you recognize burnout. Be in tune with yourself to know when it is time to stop what you are doing and reassess what your body needs.
Take care of your body mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Taking care of YOURSELF is a must to survive and you do that by adding self-care to your daily/weekly regimen. It is needed in order to live a long healthy life.
Self-care comes in many forms and does not cost alot to do.
Here are a few things that I did to replenish….
🌸Take naps🌸Talked to love ones🌸Watched movies🌸Not work🌸Bubble baths🌸Listen to music🌸Remove myself from social media🌸Take a walk🌸Pedicure🌸Read🌸Look at old photos🌸
There will be times when you will have to work a little harder than normal, but make sure you give back to yourself by recharging. Just like your cellphone. You use it all day and drain the battery. Before it gets too low, you automatically plug it in to the charger to recharge. You don’t forget because you know you need it for the next day so treat your body the same way (or better)!
